The yacht is rumored to be owned by Nassar Al Rashid, a Saudi businessman who keeps a low profile, so not much is known about his life. He is relatively quiet among the Saudi elite, as his most publicly known extravagant purchase is the Lady Moura, one of the largest personal yachts ever made.

It hosts 40 guests and 80 crew members, and it is known to have the largest swimming pool on a superyacht. Its living space stretches out across 3,800 square meters.

According to Lux Habitat, it is reportedly the world’s highest displacement superyacht with a displacement of 15,850 tons and a length of 508.53 feet.

The yacht is owned by Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al Said, the Omani prince whose net worth is estimated at $700m. He is the 14th-generation descendant of the Al Said House and has been ruling over Oman since 1970, when he overthrew his father.

The yacht’s luxurious design is enhanced by mirrored walls, glass, and silverware made of French crystals. It also features a helipad and a helicopter hanger.

The Azzam was commissioned by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, but it is unclear if he is still in its possession. The yacht is reportedly listed for charter, but it is not actually available for rent; it only appears this way so the owner can avoid taxation, as charter yachts are exempt from property taxation.

It travels to St. Martin in the Caribbean each winter to pick up guests who fly into St. Martin’s airport. The yacht then travels to Abramovich’s home on nearby St. Barths.
